This research project, formerly located at campaignfinance.law.stanford.edu, collects documents related to the litigation over the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002, also known as the McCain-Feingold Act. This litigation culminated in the Supreme Court's decision in McConnell v. Federal Election Commission, 540 U.S. 93 (2003). It contains case materials from the multiple consolidated cases before the Supreme Court and the District Court for the District of Columbia; relevant legislation; related cases that preceded this litigation; news coverage and public statements; and related publications by Stanford Law School faculty members.
