Series Description:

This series consist of materials from Studies in Law and Development Research Project (SLADE).  SLADE was focused on measuring the impact of various programs to help different countries to develop their legal institution from 1945 to 1970.  SLADE was the first project to establish on how to do empirical studies on the legal system.  John Henry Merryman was the director of the project, these files are his working files.  Information contain but not limited to preliminary study method, correspondence between researcher, and memos about implementation of this study. Arranged as found.
