Digital Annotation Tools: Annotating Documents in Bloomberg Law

Links, Folders, and Downloading Documents

Bloomberg allows you to download and save documents to your workspace (functionally similar to Westlaw and Lexis Advance's folders) for easier retrieval later.  You can find each of these features in the top left corner.

Click on the folder icon to save to your workspace.  Bloomberg Law's workspace feature is an excellent way to save relevant documents so that you can quickly navigate back to them later, and to organize your research within Bloomberg Law.

Click on the download icon to download a PDF of the document.  Note, however, that it will download the document as it is displayed in Bloomberg Law, not in its original format preserving form.

Taking Notes

Bloomberg Law also allows you to add your own notes to their documents, which save to your account.  That way, even if you click away from the or log out of your Bloomberg, your notes will still be there the next time you access the document.

To add a note, click "Notepad" on the right-hand side of the document, and then click anywhere in the column that appears to create a new note.  Be sure to click "Save" once you're done.
