This collection consist of historical California court records. Stanford Law School Library received these records as part of the Judicial Council of California, Improvement in Records Management Systems in California’s Trial and Appellate Courts Rule (Cal. R. 10.855) which permits individual institutions to serve as caretakers of historical trial court records. When originating county court clerks are ready to dispose of trial records, they must give sixty days’ notice of the plan to destroy the records. A list of acceptable institutions can request to transfer of the court records to the new hosting organization. Permission to access these records must be obtained in advance.
