Empirical Legal Research Resources

The ELS blog serves as an online forum to discuss and provide links for emerging empirical legal scholarship, provide conference updates, discuss empirical claims that have emerged in public and political discourse, facilitate discussion for guest empirical scholars and assess current empirical findings and methodologies. The blog is a collaboration between Professor Jason Czarnezki of the Marquette University Law School, Professors Michael Heise and Theodore Eisenberg of the Cornell Law School, and William Ford, Bigelow Fellow and Lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago Law School.

Society of Empirical Legal Studies is an international organization supporting empirical and experimental research on legal issues and facilitating ongoing conversations among scholars in different disciplines. It offers annual conference and training materials.

Center for Empirical Research in the Law supports research on law and legal institutions. It has launched a few projects and databases in many law-related disciplines making rich data sources available online. It also offers workshops and resources on conducting empirical legal research.

Center for the Study of Law and Society supports theoretical and empirical research in the area of law and society. It offers a series of speaker series throughout the year. It provides resources and empirical research methods workshop.
